Fillings

Dental fillings are used to fill cavities and repair cracked or minor tooth fractures. The filling helps prevent further tooth decay and restores the function and structure of the tooth.

We strive to make our patients as comfortable as possible during the procedure. We use a local anaesthetic to numb the gums and surrounding area if needed. Once the numbing takes effect, your dentist removes the decayed material, disinfects the area, and fills the cavity with the filling material.

Once the filling is complete, your dentist will polish the tooth and check your bite.

Most fillings can last up to 10 years with proper care before you need to have the filling replaced.
